The Avalon Black Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 74-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. John's Catholic Prep. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (62), Avalon still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Avalon still got an impressive performance from Trey Simmons, who scored 35 points. The match was Simmons' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Pietro Bardelli, who scored 11 points.
Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Avalon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Hope Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (New Hope Academy is ranked 21st, while Avalon is ranked 29th). As for St. John's Catholic Prep, they will take on Benedictine at TBD on Monday.
