The Green Hope Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Holly Springs 82-49. Green Hope has struggled against the Golden Hawks recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Loss or not, Green Hope got some senior leadership from Jayden Grier and Rafik Khismatov. Grier scored ten points along with five rebounds, while Khismatov. almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Khismatov is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Michael Joof, who scored nine points.
Green Hope dropped their record down to 3-15 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-2 Apex Friendship (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.6% over those games). As for Holly Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Green Hope will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in North Carolina (the Patriots are ranked 92nd, while the Falcons are ranked 472nd). As for Holly Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Middle Creek is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
