Basketball Recap: Teachers Prep Skates Past Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Teachers Prep). They blew past Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance 77-48 on Thursday. Given Teachers Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance is ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Teachers Prep, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Teachers Prep and Classics will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Classics knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Teachers Prep likes a good challenge. As for Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maxwell Vo-Tech at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
