The Carbon Dinos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Emery Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 14 to 6 on the offensive boards, a fact Carbon proved on Thursday. They took down Manti 58-43. The victory was just what Carbon needed coming off of a 68-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carbon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amiah Timothy, who scored 21 points along with five assists and four steals. Timothy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacie Jensen, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Meanwhile, Emery strolled past the Falcons with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 58-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Emery.
Carbon pushed their record up to 16-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Emery, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Carbon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Spartans in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 68-63 win. Will Carbon repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
