The Weston Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 50-28 loss at the hands of Brookfield. Weston was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Brookfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Loss or not, Weston got some senior leadership from Miles Fine who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Nicholas Psichopaidas who threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns.
Brookfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Walters out in front who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Robinson, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Weston's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Brookfield, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4.
Weston will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Joel Barlow at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Joel Barlow and Weston are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. Brookfield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bethel at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Bethel is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
