Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edgewood Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johnny Groves, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. The game was Groves' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brody Whitt, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Edgewood Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Hooper Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood Academy will take on Evangel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evangel Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Edgewood Academy in Alabama (Evangel Christian is ranked 87th, while Edgewood Academy is ranked 291st). As for Hooper Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Autauga Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
