Woodland Gets a Boost from Howard in 41-40 Defeat
Starting off the list is Woodland's Mark Howard, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Howard rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run.
Woodland's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. Howard and Woodland will play host again on Friday to welcome Ola, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 p.m.

Nigel Newkirk Goes Supernova in Ola Loss
Nigel Newkirk's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his seventh-straight game with 106+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 198 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
The loss snapped Ola's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-1 record. Newkirk and Ola will venture away from home to face off against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Devin Edmonds Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Jones County got the W thanks in part to Devin Edmonds playing the best football he has all season. Edmonds threw for 219 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Jones County pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Edmonds and Jones County will head out to face off against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Another Game with at Least 101 Receiving Yards from Jaivon Solomon
Jaivon Solomon produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Jones County to the win on Friday. Solomon's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 receiving yards dating back to last season. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 52 yards.
This season, Solomon has caught 8 touchdowns while averaging 116.7 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 55.14 receiving yards per game.

Rogers Posts Huge Game in 41-40 Loss
The second Woodland player making an appearance here is Brayden Rogers, and for good reason. He rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 64 yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
For the season, Rogers has thrown 3 touchdowns while averaging 66.8 passing yards per game.
