South Lake scaled the state rankings by moving to 143 from 189 this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 10. The Eagles were able to move up by defeating Lake Region 48-8.
South Lake made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,267 from 3,202. The advance stemmed from a 48-8 victory over the Thunder last week.
Lake Minneola's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jesse Fiske threw for 218 yards and Devin Mctigue had 85 yards receiving. On the ground Julani Gordon chipped in 72 yards. Austin Hunt helped Lake Minneola's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 45 yards.
