The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks had just enough and edged out the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs  25-22 on Friday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Shamrocks.

A big part of Yuma Catholic's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Nash Ott and his top target  Brody Amon. Ott threw for 220 yards and three  TDs while  Amon picked up 73 receiving yards and a pair of  scores. That's the most  passing touchdowns  Ott has posted since back in November of 2024.
 One reason for the win was Yuma Catholic's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from  Maximiliano Orozco: he picked up  a  sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Tanner Austin, who picked up 104 receiving yards and one  touchdown.  Logan Russell also helped out with an impressive 88  receiving yards.
Yuma Catholic's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record  this season.
 Yuma Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  30-7  victory against Cactus on the 10th. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have also already played their next game,  a  40-0  win against Willow Canyon on the 10th.
