We expected Northampton/Hopkins Academy to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Minnechaug Regional on Friday, and they did. Northampton/Hopkins Academy ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-35 walloping at Minnechaug Regional's hands. If Northampton/Hopkins Academy were hoping to take revenge for the 0-35 loss against Minnechaug Regional the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The loss dropped Northampton/Hopkins Academy back to even at 2-2. The win bumped Minnechaug Regional's record up to 4-0.
Northampton/Hopkins Academy will take on West Springfield at home at 7:00 PM next week. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. As for Minnechaug Regional, they will face off against Putnam Vo-Tech.
