The Brewer Bears will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Everman Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Brewer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Brewer didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Keller Central, but they still walked away with a 45-41 victory. Given Brewer's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Keller Central is ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brewer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julian Perez, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Perez has scored at least 25% of Brewer's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre King, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, Everman pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 78-57 loss to Fossil Ridge might stick with them for a while.
Brewer has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 10-3 record. As for Everman, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Brewer against Everman when the teams last played back in December of 2019 as the team secured a 67-34 win. Will Brewer repeat their success, or does Everman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
