Grace's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Williams, who rushed for 172 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Those 172 rushing yards gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Cooper, who gained 127 total yards and three touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Grace was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Grace didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Williams and Tristan Minsky. Another thorn in Del Sol's side was Jaadin Weyandt, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (1.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Carpinteria brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They really took it to Santa Clara for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-6 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Grace better focus on containing Chris Jaimes and Isaac Neri as the pair were huge in Carpinteria's win. Jaimes gained 98 total yards and three touchdowns, while Neri rushed for 57 yards and one TD on only five carries. Another big playmaker for Carpinteria was Drew Filippini, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Carpinteria, racking up 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Filippini, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Grace, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Grace has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 381.5 total yards per game. It's a different story for Carpinteria, though, as they've been averaging only 196.8 total yards. Will Grace be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Warriors flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Grace against Carpinteria in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 48-0 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
