The Mountain View Mountain Lions will play host again and welcome the Maricopa Rams, where kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maricopa took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain View, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Mountain View really took it to Nogales for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-7 victory at home. Mountain View pushed the score to 34-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Nogales had little chance of recovering from.
Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nicholas Horrocks led the charge by rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Martinez, who rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, Maricopa ended up a good deal behind Tucson High Magnet School on Friday and lost 28-14.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jose Cardona jr, who threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Nate Barlow was another key contributor, gaining 133 total yards.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Maricopa, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
