The Fuqua Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 53-46 to Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fuqua in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Fuqua still got an impressive performance from Sam Minix, who scored 30 points along with three blocks. That was a full 65.2% of Fuqua's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Morgan, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Fuqua has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Fuqua will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lynchburg HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 385 points over their last five matches. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, they will head out on the road to square off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Southampton Academy is ranked 358th, while the Knights are ranked 366th).
