Cale Slaten made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
