Cale Slaten made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Slaten is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Mountain Pine's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Horatio, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
