Lincolnview is a perfect 4-0 against Perry since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lancers are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Commodores at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, Lincolnview made easy work of Ottoville and carried off a 24-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.
Myles Moody made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moody was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Evans, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayse Overholt, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
Lincolnview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ottoville only posted an OBP of .176.
Meanwhile, Perry strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Temple Christian 11-1. Fans of the Commodores have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like Lincolnview, Perry also got a great game from a two-way player: Hunter Scott. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Scott was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brodey Douce was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Taviano, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Lincolnview pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Perry, their record now sits at 3-0.
Everything went Lincolnview's way against Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Lincolnview made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
