Basketball Recap: Decatur Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Decatur won the last time they faced Eagle Mountain, and Javen Colbert did his part to make sure it happened again. The Decatur Eagles managed a 60-55 victory over the Eagle Mountain Knights on Tuesday thanks in part to Colbert, who went 9 for 20 en route to 38 points and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Decatur's points.

Kaceson Ore was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Decatur is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Eagle Mountain, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-12 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Decatur will host Springtown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Decatur is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Eagle Mountain, they will be playing at home against Krum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
