The University Prep Pumas will head out on the road to square off against the Ingraham Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row dating back to last season, University Prep turned things around against Tyee on Saturday. They never let the Titans get on the board and left with an 8-0 win.
Hawthorne Moody was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Moody was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Noah Keppler and Thomas Hamilton did most of the damage at the plate: Keppler scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Hamilton scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Wade Suess was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Ingraham put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over Lindbergh.
Landon Hill looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Landon Miller was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Harry Hayes, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Ingraham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindbergh only posted an OBP of .278.
The victory got University Prep back to even at 1-1. As for Ingraham, their record now sits at 3-0.
University Prep might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Ingraham in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Can University Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
