Ulysses scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Scott, 25-6. At the time, the Beavers were ranked 19th in the state, while the Tigers were 43rd.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Ulysses, who defeated 19th ranked Scott, 25-6. Ian Rudzik ran for 207 yards in the win.
Holcomb's dynamic duo of Heath Tucker and Calen Rupp proved to be unstoppable against Goodland, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Tucker threw for 251 yards and 2 touchdowns and Rupp had 169 yards receiving. Trey Sleep helped Holcomb's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 43 yards.
He was 8-12 with 1 interception.
The Cowboys' Trey Teeter and Dax Ruhs have formed a dream team this season, leading Great West in both passing and receiving yards. Teeter has thrown for 1,028 yards this season, while Ruhs, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 19 catches for 402 yards. Ross Davis from Hugoton leads the league in rushing with 456 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Jason Kenny's team takes on Goodland. The Tigers are in first place, while Kent Teeter's team is in fourth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Eagles take on Glenn O'Neil's team. Hugoton has allowed 67 points this season, while the Beavers have given up 78. Clint Merritt's team allowed 0 points last week as it beat Colby.
Ulysses was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Scott. The Tigers came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 43 last week.
