The De Kalb Bears will challenge the Hooks Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hooks will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: De Kalb extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Bears blew past Queen City, posting a 50-6 win. The Bears' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Dom Dunn
| 10/31/25 @ Queen City | 119 |
| 10/10/25 @ New Boston | 98 |
| 10/03/25 vs Daingerfield | 87 |
| 08/29/25 vs Mineola | 70 |
| 10/17/25 vs Redwater | 68 |
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead De Kalb to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dom Dunn, who rushed for 119 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Those 119 rushing yards gave Dunn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Matteson, who picked up 107 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hooks got the win against Redwater on Friday by a conclusive 39-13. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won nine in a row.
De Kalb better keep an eye on Ripken Birdwell. He was instrumental in Hooks' win, rushing for 72 yards and two scores on only eight carries, while also throwing for 178 yards and one TD.
Hooks was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 272 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hooks' defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Adyn McCall with two. Hooks received some extra help from Trenton Haynes, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Hooks' win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for De Kalb, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. De Kalb has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hooks struggles in that department as they've been averaging 258.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for De Kalb against Hooks when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-14 win. In that contest, the Bears amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
