Berry fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 43-39 win over Oak Grove on Tuesday.
Rylee Hill and Maggie Mauldin were among the main playmakers for Berry as the former dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Mauldin has scored at least a third of Berry's points. Another player making a difference was Sydney Rice, who scored three points along with ten rebounds.
Pickens County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Berry, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.
Things could have been worse for Pickens County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-21 loss to Berry in their previous matchup on January 8th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mauldin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
