The Nature Coast Tech Sharks will face off against the Dunnellon Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Nature Coast Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Nature Coast Tech will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Fivay two weeks ago. Nature Coast Tech blew past Fivay 12-2. Considering the Sharks have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Izzy Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Nature Coast Tech got a massive performance out of Haley Keane, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Keane posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassie Figueroa, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Nature Coast Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Dunnellon was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Forest, falling 16-1. The Tigers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Dunnellon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Joiner, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Dunnellon's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Nature Coast Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Dunnellon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Nature Coast Tech hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Dunnellon, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Nature Coast Tech's hitters?
Nature Coast Tech might still be hurting after the 19-9 defeat they got from Dunnellon in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Can Nature Coast Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
