Softball Recap: Jonesboro Has No Trouble Against Mundy's Mill

Jonesboro's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Mundy's Mill Tigers as they made off with a 22-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Jonesboro let Brianna Mason and Makayla Lamar run wild. Mason went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Lamar got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Lamar a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Brown, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Jonesboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mundy's Mill only posted an OBP of .421.

The victory got Jonesboro back to even at 3-3. As for Mundy's Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Jonesboro will take on Eagle's Landing at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season. As for Mundy's Mill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morrow at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
