A well-balanced attack led the Silver Bluff Bulldogs over the Pelion Panthers in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Silver Bluff enjoyed a cozy 56-39 win over Pelion. That's another feather in the cap for Silver Bluff, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Justin Perry was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points. Jaydon Eason was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Pelion lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lucas New. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. New also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Talan Gunter, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Pelion struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Silver Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Pelion, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Silver Bluff will head out on the road to face off against Abbeville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Silver Bluff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday. Pelion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
