The Fairdale Bulldogs's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against Western by a score of 46-36. This was payback for Fairdale, who suffered a 54-18 loss the last time these two teams met.
Western's loss came despite strong showings from Aubryonna Durrah and Demetriaunna Shouse. Durrah scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and five steals, while Shouse scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Leslie Bright, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Fairdale's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Western, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairdale will take on Campbellsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Western, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
