After three games on the road, Hebron Christian is heading back home. They will take on The Humphreys Academy Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Hebron Christian is ranked 30th, while Humphreys Academy is ranked 23rd).
Last Friday, Hebron Christian had just enough and edged Marvell Academy out 28-26.
Hebron Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stephen Raines, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Raines is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Horn, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, Humphreys Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 72-50 walloping at the hands of North Sunflower Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (34), Humphreys Academy still had to take the loss.
Hebron Christian's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Humphreys Academy, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Hebron Christian took a serious blow against Humphreys Academy in their previous matchup back in August of 2022, falling 44-6. Will Hebron Christian have more luck at home instead of on the road?
