Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Resurrection Christian

Resurrection Christian waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Brush Beetdiggers with points to spare, taking the game 62-45. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Beetdiggers are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Resurrection Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Klein, who posted 23 points along with seven steals and six boards. That's the most steals Klein has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caz McGraw, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 15 points and eight steals.

Resurrection Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brush only racked up five assists.

Brush's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sidney Miller, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kalli Castrup, who scored nine points.

Resurrection Christian's record is now 15-1. As for Brush, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Resurrection Christian will host Liberty Common at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Resurrection Christian's favor as the team sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Liberty Common has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Brush has already played their next contest (against Haxtun), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
