The Claremont Wolfpack will take on the Western Christian Fighting Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Western Christian will be up against a hot Claremont squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Wolfpack's pitcher stepped up to hand Diamond Bar a 6-0 shutout on Friday.
Not much got past Wyatt Green, who gave up just three hits to keep Diamond Bar off the board. Green also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Claremont is 6-2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ramzey Farah, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Claremont is 5-0-1 when Farah posts two or more runs, but 8-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke Porras, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Western Christian). They blew past The Webb Schools 15-2 on Friday. The Fighting Lancers haven't had any issues with the Gauls recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Western Christian also got a great performance from Jackson Thompson as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Thompson a new career-high.
On the hitting side, James Mack was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Will Stradley was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Western Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Claremont now has a winning record of 13-12-1. As for Western Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
Claremont took their win against Western Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Fighting Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
