The Juniata Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Newport Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Juniata has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Juniata came out on top against East Juniata on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Tigers 14-13. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Bryce Harlon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Harlon was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Juniata: the team is 3-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Gage Harlon was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Juniata kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are undefeated (3-0) when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Newport beat Greenwood 10-5 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buffaloes.
Newport got a massive performance out of Chris Imler, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jameson Cummins, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Newport's record now sits at 12-5. As for Juniata, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Juniata has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Newport struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Juniata suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Newport in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
