The Churubusco Eagles had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to Westview on the road by a decisive 58-39 margin on Friday. Churubusco has not had much luck with Westview recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Joey Taylor and Weston Ott certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Taylor scored 14 points, while Ott scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ummel, who scored 10 points.
Churubusco's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Westview, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Churubusco will head out on the road to face off against Columbia City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against NorthWood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
