Basketball Recap: West Henderson Extends Winning Streak to Three

If North Henderson wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played West Henderson, they should've done a better job of containing Kayden Lyda. The West Henderson Falcons really took it to the North Henderson Knights for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-27 win thanks in part to Lyda, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Sawyer Manuel, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

North Henderson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reese Smith, who posted seven points and eight rebounds. Kyla Motley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The victory was the third in a row for West Henderson, bringing their record for this year to 10-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for North Henderson, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

West Henderson has already played their next matchup, a 55-38 win against East Henderson on the 24th. As for North Henderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-25 defeat against Smoky Mountain on the 24th.
