The Lawrenceville Indians will challenge the Richland County Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Lawrenceville turned things around against South Knox on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Spartans 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since May 13, 2024.

Allison Evans made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring five runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).
In other batting news, Alyssa Griggs was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Erin Harris was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4.
Lawrenceville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Richland County hadn't done well against Mt. Carmel recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Golden Aces. Considering the Tigers have won four matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Richland County also got a great performance from Natalie Ochs as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, Richland County let Miranda Dowty and Taylor Bloomer run wild. Dowty went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Bloomer scored two runs while going 3-for-3. That home run marked the first that Dowty launched this season. Another player making a difference was Clara Williams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Richland County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
