Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Lakeland Hornets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 42-14 loss at the hands of Pleasantville. Lakeland's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
It was another big night for Daniel Picart, who rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Picart really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Pleasantville also got a significant boost from Louis Sdao, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Pleasantville, their victory was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-0.
Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pleasantville will square off against Rye at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rye is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
