The Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers will challenge the DuBois Beavers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Philipsburg-Osceola sitting on five straight victories and DuBois on three.
Philipsburg-Osceola's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Bald Eagle Area 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

05/08/24 @ Bishop Guilfoyle | 2 |

03/27/25 vs Hollidaysburg | 1 |
Fischer White was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker Lamb, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
While DuBois didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out Lakeview 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Beavers have posted since April 22, 2024.
Noah Farrell and Samson Deeb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Farrell struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Deeb tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Farrell has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Farrell scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-5, while Deeb scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-7. Farrell also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Chamberlin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-6. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Trey Wingard was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
DuBois kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.
Philipsburg-Osceola pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for DuBois, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Philipsburg-Osceola has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like DuBois struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Philipsburg-Osceola's way against DuBois when the teams last played back in March of 2023, as Philipsburg-Osceola made off with a 21-7 win. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
