Despite the loss, Leon saw an underclassman step up: Aneila Pierre dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Leading Florida State University High School to victory were Leviah Henry and Taylor Hackett. Henry scored 27 points along with five rebounds, while Hackett dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Henry has scored all season. Peyton Demps was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Leon's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Florida State University High School, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leon and Maclay will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
