The Custer Wildcats can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They blew past Belle Fourche 62-38. Given Custer's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Broncs are ranked 118th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Belle Fourche lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jet Jensen, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Sandoval, who scored eight points.
Custer has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Belle Fourche, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Custer will take on the Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Belle Fourche, they will be playing at home against the Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rapid City Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 games -- so hopefully the Broncs like a good challenge.
