Basketball Recap: Goleman Skates Past Edison with Ease

Goleman meant business on Wednesday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Red Raiders squad that has allowed just 22.25 points per contest. The Goleman Gators took their matchup with ease, bagging a 72-36 victory over the Edison Red Raiders. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-10.

Leading Goleman to victory were Kai Tift and Jasmin Brown. Tift posted 25 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals, while Brown put up 14 points in addition to eight assists and five steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Akayla Edwards, who had ten points and five assists.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Goleman was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win (which was Goleman's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Goleman and Edison will both be playing North Miami Beach the next time they take the court. Goleman will host North Miami Beach at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025, while Edison will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
