Softball Recap: Heathwood Hall Episcopal Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Heathwood Hall Episcopal kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Augusta Christian Lions by a score of 13-12. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal got a massive performance out of Mamie Biel, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Biel a new career-high in hits. Frances Laughlin was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Augusta Christian now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heathwood Hall Episcopal will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hammond at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st. As for Augusta Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Augusta Christian Lions face off against Cardinal Newman Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
