After two games on the road, Thunderbird is heading back home. They will take on the Shadow Mountain Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Thunderbird beat Yuma 34-30.
Shadow Mountain posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Yuma and snuck past 24-21. The win made it back-to-back wins for Shadow Mountain.
Shadow Mountain found their leader in underclassman Cheyenne Hanna, who scored nine points along with six steals and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Hanna posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Tess Newport, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Thunderbird pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Shadow Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12.
Everything went Thunderbird's way against Shadow Mountain in their previous meeting last Wednesday as Thunderbird made off with a 50-27 win. Will Thunderbird repeat their success, or does Shadow Mountain have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
