Goodwin Tech came into Monday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Phoenix 63-47 on Monday. The Gladiators' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Goodwin Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amare Robinson, who posted 21 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nazir Russell, who had 17 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Robinson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Goodwin Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Goodwin Tech's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Goodwin Tech won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Windham RVT at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
