Independence is 0-7 against Riverside since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. Independence will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverside at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Independence beats Riverside with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Independence put the hurt on Stone Bridge with a sharp 11-1 win on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for Independence, who have now won eight contests in a row.
Emma Stringer spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Independence pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Independence hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
