The Wells Leopards gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past Tonopah 33-12. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wells also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Wells found their leader in underclassman Khloe DelRio, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Harney, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Wells' win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Tonopah, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Wells will be playing in front of their home fans against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tonopah, they will face off against Lund at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Lund is ranked 71st, while Tonopah is ranked 49th).
