Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johansen). They strolled past the Hilmar Yellowjackets with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 77-62. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 1036th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johansen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wilbert Gaxiola, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivan Martinez, who earned 15 points.

Hilmar's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Xavier Silveira, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds, and Cohen Felber, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 18 points.

Johansen's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Hilmar, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

Johansen didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-60 loss against Beyer on the 6th. As for Hilmar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-32 defeat against Ripon Christian on the 8th.
