Basketball Recap: Naperville Central Piles Up the Points Against Phillips

While Naperville Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 69-33 victory over the Phillips Wildcats. The game marked the Redhawks' most dominant win of the season so far.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Akyla Williams, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamaria Sephus, who had eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Naperville Central and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Phillips, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Naperville Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-53 victory against Butler on the 9th. As for Phillips, they will be playing at home against Perspectives Leadership/Technology at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
