The Prestonwood Christian Lions won the last time they faced the Parish Episcopal Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Prestonwood Christian strolled past Parish Episcopal with points to spare, taking the game 56-37. Given Prestonwood Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Parish Episcopal is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prestonwood Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Londyn Oliphant, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Oliphant has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Swindell, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
The win made it two in a row for Prestonwood Christian and bumps their season record up to 27-6. As for Parish Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prestonwood Christian will take on Ursuline Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prestonwood Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Ursuline Academy likes a good challenge. As for Parish Episcopal, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop Lynch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Lynch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
