Crownpoint and Thoreau are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crownpoint is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.

Crownpoint is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Navajo Prep just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Navajo Prep.

Crownpoint's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Courtney Craig, who posted 14 points, and Miley McMillan, who had ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Craig is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Thoreau duked it out with Zuni on Monday. The Hawks walked away with a 60-51 victory over the Thunderbirds. The win was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Thoreau's win came from a few key players that Crownpoint will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kayleigh Dodge, who scored ten points and five steals. Tayana Ramone was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 10 points.

Thoreau was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2025.

Thoreau's victory bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Crownpoint, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.

Everything came up roses for Crownpoint against Thoreau in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 70-34 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
