The Mountain Crest Mustangs will head out on the road to  take on  the Box Elder Bees  at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Mountain Crest has given up an average of 8.1  runs per game this season, but Thursday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
West Field hit Mountain Crest with a four-run fifth inning  on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against  the Longhorns, falling  11-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Mountain Crest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Dani Alexander, who  went 1-for-2 with one  triple.
Meanwhile, Box Elder got the win against Viewmont  on Tuesday by a conclusive  17-2. The result was nothing new for the Bees, who have now won 15 games by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 Kennadie Blackmer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  firing off two  home runs and five  RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most  home runs  she has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  Alexis Hales was  incredible,  firing off three  home runs and six  RBI while going 3-for-4. Those  three  home runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brooke Richards, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Box Elder  lost a few balls and  finished the game with six  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Box Elder's win was  their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 20-3. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Mountain Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
 Mountain Crest couldn't quite get it done against Box Elder in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024 as they fell  9-5. Can the Mustangs avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
