The El Paso Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Burges Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought match, but El Paso had to settle for a 3-2 loss against Jefferson. While losing is never fun, El Paso can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Jefferson is ranked 245th).
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Burges sidestepped Chapin for a 2-1 win.
This is the second loss in a row for El Paso and nudges their season record down to 5-7-4. As for Burges, they now have a winning record of 5-4-4.
El Paso came up short against Burges when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 2-0. Can El Paso avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
