The Lemon Bay Manta Rays won the last time they faced the DeSoto County Bulldogs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Lemon Bay breezed by the Bulldogs at home to the tune of 70-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lemon Bay.
It was another big night for Cooper Benedict, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Scott, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
DeSoto County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rylan Unruh, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Unruh hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games. Jeremiah Ward was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Lemon Bay has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season. As for DeSoto County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.
Lemon Bay will head out on the road to face off against the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for DeSoto County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Miners at 8:00 p.m. Fort Meade has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three games.
