After flying high against the Arundel Wildcats last Friday, the Meade Mustangs came back down to earth. Meade was the victim of a tough 60-36 loss at the hands of Southern on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Meade has suffered yet this season.
Ava Wooster continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southern, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Wooster hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Huntyr Marks was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meade has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Southern, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Meade won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chesapeake at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Chesapeake is ranked 90th, while Meade is ranked 115th). Southern won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Severna Park at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Severna Park is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
